Introducing Albums.app - the Tactile Music Controller for iPhone + iPod Touch

Introducing Albums.app

After a heap of work and twice as much spit & polish, I’m really proud to see Albums, my first independent, commercial iPhone app for sale in the app store!

It’s virtual desktop on your iPhone (or iPod Touch), on which you can throw around albums from your iPod music library.

Use it for your latest, favourite or prettiest albums. I use it to keep my recent purchases and old favourites in view, for those “what shall I play now” moments, when a list of artists in iTunes doesn’t inspire.

Albums is an alternative take on digital music. I designed it for me. I still buy music on physical media - CDs. I do so because CDs are generally cheaper than digital downloads, have a resale value and included in the purchase price is a beautifully illustrated physical backup. Albums.app re-connects you with your physical media.

For a little more information, screenshots and a demo movie, please proceed to http://albums-app.com/. Note the real-time physics in the interactive footer - done with javascript + CSS (requires Safari, Firefox, Chrome or other WebKit based browser).

Albums is currently £1.19 (or similar in your currency) in the app store. For support & feature suggestions, I’ve set up a Get Satisfaction Page for it. Please let me know what you think!
